ACRA Results

In its second year as a Championship Regatta, ACRAs occured this past weekend in Oak Ridge, Tennessee. According to ACRA, despite the distance to travel and limited funding for these programs, 47 programs from all over the country ended up competing in the sweeping and sculling events.

Because it is a late season regatta and newer on the circuit, many schools have not yet figured out how to fit ACRA into the budget. Even more importantly, they haven't all been able to keep athletes from taking those summer jobs that start in late May. The result of this is reshuffled lineups and lots of smaller boats, making the competition a little bit different from the last time they all saw each other at Dad Vails.

In looking at the results, it would see that Georgia Tech Crew only sent men to this regatta as it basically has taken the place of IRA (which with only a few exceptions, was primarily for the men's team).

Here are the results according to the ACRA website:

Gold:

Men's Lightweight 8+

Men's 2-

Bronze:

Men's 1x

Fifth:

Men's 2x

Congratulations! We hope to see some women's boats out there next year as well! Enjoy your summer!
