The budget for the program, for the last few years, has been $200,000 per year annually. In order to support GT Crew's mission to reach and maintain its position as the top club university rowing program, we need to rapidly expand the endowment. Doubling our total endowment value to $600,000 will yield the team at least $20,000 per year to dedicate towards its fleet. You can find our joint fleet management strategy with the team in our five-year plan.
We are seeking consistent, monthly/annual donations from alumni spanning GT Crew's 40-year history to build our endowment.
If you graduated between 2015-2025, we ask you to consider donating $10/month - just $120 per year.
If you graduated between 2005-2015, we ask you to consider donating $50/month - or $600 per year.
If you graduated before 2005, we ask you to consider donating $100/month - or $1,200 per year.
In order to achieve our goal, we need $55,000 in annual donations to the endowment from now until 2030 - nearly the same amount we fundraised for during the Regener8+ The Fleet Campaign.
In 2010, GTCA launched its first endowment campaign to fundraise the initial required $25,000 seed. Stewarded by Catherine Owens, the endowment has steadily grown to over $300,000 over the years, providing vital support to the team. You can read The GTCA Endowment's charter here.
The Endowment is managed by the Georgia Tech Foundation and returns are given to the team at the end of the fall racing season. Market gains above the stable disbursement to the team are returned to the principal of the endowment, with the Office of Development taking a 0.75% management fee.
Georgia Tech Foundation publishes their annual reports here detailing the funds' performance.
