On Sunday October 11th, the Women's Varsity, Men's Second Varsity, and Novice Men traveled up to Lake Lanier to scrimmage against local schools in Clemson, UGA, UNG, and Berry College. Despite Hurricane Isaias causing a weather delay, the team toughed out a classic Lake Lanier headwind to set the stage for fall racing.
The varsity women's day was highlighted by a 3rd place finish in the V4+ from Heather Partridge, Helen Honecker, Eva Kushnir, Linda Mentz, coxed by Maddie Lynde.
One the men's side, the Novice 8+ consisting of Sophia Rhyzkov, Maksim Grach, Ian Bowen, Keith Eplett, Josh Woody, Alex Chehebar, Spas Stoimenov, Jack Shipp, and Disas Sooriyarachchi placed 1st, nearly 40 seconds ahead of the pack and earning a coveted box of donuts from the scrimmage organizers.
We can't wait to see how the team performs at Head of the Hooch!
