2011 Dad Vail Regatta

The 2011 Dad Vail Regatta will be held on Friday and Saturday May 13 and 14, 2011. The past two years, alumni from Atlanta have loaded up the GT Crew trailer with supplies for a spectator tent and have organized a great venue for cheering on GT Crew along the Schuylkill River. 2010 Dad Vail GT Alumni Tent
This year, the current GTCA board is not able to organize this tent. However, any alumnus from any part of the country can organize this spectating tent. The Atlanta branch of the GTCA can send up supplies on the team's trailer and can advertise the ten to all of it's members. This process has been done for Head of the Charles in past years, so we know it can be successful again.The local GT club, the Delaware Valley / Philadelphia GT alumni club, is always very fun to work with and they usually either completely co-host the event (had a great tailgate lunch in 2009) or have many members show up (like in 2010). Parents, coaches and rowers spend time at the tent as well. It's great PR to have GT shown as a major player up in Philadelphia. The tent reservation is due by April 8, 2011. Again, the GTCA can advertise, provide tons of advice, and send up supplies on the GT Trailer (which the rowers will even bring to the tent area for alumni).
