Post date: Oct 18, 2012 3:20:17 PM

The voting page is now up and running, so you can vote for the 2012-2013 board members. Voting will remain open through Friday, October 26. The results of the elections will be announced at Homecoming, on October 27, 2012. Anyone affiliated with the GTCA may vote (friend, alumni, rower, parent, coach, etc.). See below for a list of our nominees.

Nominees

President

Kevin Hade

Kevin graduated in 2010 with a degree in Environmental Engineering and currently works in Atlanta. He served as the GTCA Secretary in 2011 and then as the President for the 2011-2012 year. He has worked closely with the board since its inception, when he was an officer for GT Crew. He is familiar with how the board works and wishes to continue to help out the team in any way that he can.

Treasurer

Cameron Troxel

Cameron graduated from Georgia Tech with a BSCE in 2007. He rowed all four years of his undergraduate studies at Tech, beginning on the novice team in the fall of 2003. Cameron served briefly as the GTCA secretary before moving to Savannah to follow a work project. Currently, Cameron is back at Georgia Tech pursuing a MSCE while working as a research assistant in the geo-environmental group. Cameron served as the GTCA Secretary in 2012. Cameron enjoys working with spreadsheets and has more-or-less mastered his own finances. If elected as the GTCA treasurer, Cameron will work diligently to provide a term free of embezzlement, fraud, and other accounting histrionics.

Communications

Kelley Williamson Conway

Kelley graduated from Tech in 1999, having been a part of four amazing years in GT Crew history. She was an officer during that time, including the formative 1996-1997 season, when the team began to take the shape you see today. After graduation, she held several positions in GT Alumni clubs, gaining a working understanding of how the Alumni Association interacts with its affiliate groups. She's been involved in GTCA since its early days and served as the Merchandise chair for the 2011-2012 year. She looks forward to helping our awesome group grow even larger and more successful!

Events

Sara Willson-Thacker

Sara graduated in 1999 with a degree in Science, Technology & Culture. She held the Public Relations Officer position for the team. She was the GTCA Events Chair in our inaugural 2008-2009 year and served as the Events Chair for the 2011-2012 year as well. She believes that events like Homecoming and the Spring Picnic are a core part of the value that GTCA brings to its members and I am excited to bring my 12+ years of experience as an alumna to this role.

Secretary

"Slim" Jim Price

Slim joined the GT Crew Team during his freshmen year, just after the team suspension (96/97). During his rowing years he held many officer positions. After graduation, he helped coach for about 10 years, becoming highly integrated into another very important aspect of the team leadership. Professionally, he holds many board positions for various state industrial groups within WI, NC, VA, GA, AL. Slim served as the GTCA Secretary in the 2011-2012 year. He strives to bring a very unique experience to the board with his extensive length with the team and his 15+ year history with the team’s alumni.

Merchandise

Tim Maryak

My name is Tim Maryak and I rowed at Georgia Tech between 2003 and 2007 on the men's varsity team. In addition to the demanding schedule of training, I held the position of vice president for one year. Most of the alumni should be aware of the responsibilities associated with the position. I have recently moved back to Atlanta and would like to start my involvement with the team again through the GTCA board as merchandise chair. As a runner, cyclist, and ex-rower, I should have a firm grasp on what type of merchandise most alumni are interested in. If elected, I hope to grow my responsibilities with the GTCA over time.
