2010 GOAL = DOUBLE OUR MEMBERSHIP In
2009, the GTCA also began a membership campaign asking for $25 from our
members to help our organization function. And throughout the year, we
have become a 62 active-member Affinity Group, with an additional 300+
general
members. With the membership funds we received, the GTCA was able to
provide the following activities for all of its
members: - Organized
the Pi Mile Road Race, where we won the event and also $500 for a scholarship for the GT Crew
Team,
- established
a great relationship with the Philadelphia Alumni Group and organized an
event at the Dad Vail Regatta,
- organized
the Atlanta Erg Sprints, where we raised a healthy portion
of the trailer fund replacement campaign money as well as additional
GTCA operational funds,
- hosted
the 2009 Spring Picnic, where we presented a new trailer
to the team and inducted the graduating team members into the GTCA,
- hosted an annual homecoming tailgate on campus,
- held our second round of elections, and
- released 30 newsletters to 300+ individuals,
letting you (our friends and family) stay in touch with each other.
So for 2010, our goal is to DOUBLE OUR MEMBERSHIP. 62 members ----> 124 members
Because
we can't always rely on general donations from the school and other
sources, we hope to double our number of active members so that we can do
all the events listed above and more. While this may sound ambitious, we believe that with teamwork
it can easily be accomplished. If all 62 members from 2009 renew their
membership for 2010, plus find one new member for 2010, we will have
hit our goal.
We urge all of our alumni and friends to become active members in the GTCA as stated by the definition below. A donation to the GT Foundation does not fulfill the annual
dues responsibility for active members.
Non active members includes anyone in the GTCA community and are entitled to:
- Newsletters and e-mail communication
- Free entry to GTCA
sponsored events such as homecoming tailgate, spring picnic, dad
vails
Active
membership will include any person who has paid $25 annual
dues. A donation to the GT Foundation does not fulfill the annual
dues responsibility for active members.
The $25 membership dues will: - Make you an annual active member which provides the following benefits:
- A 2010 hat (the 2009 active membership product was a t-shirt)
-
Discounted
membership price for various events
- nomination and voting privileges
- Enable the GTCA to continue to function as
your liaison to the team and the Alumni Association at Georgia Tech.
- Fund free GTCA events such as Homecoming tailgates, spring picnic, Dad Vail Regatta and more.
- Allow the GTCA to financially support GT Crew through yearly fundraisers
